Technical Information

Championships Technical Meeting
The championships technical meeting for coaches and participants will be held at 7:30pm Friday, February 12 at the meet headquarters hotel, Days Inn Tacoma.

Course
The championships will be contested at Lake Spanaway Golf Course over a spectator-friendly, international-style course. The course consists of multiple 2000-meter loops comprised of 99% grass, with the remainder consisting of dirt-based cart paths which are crossed occasionally.

Course Inspection
The course will be available for inspection on Friday, February 12 from 1:30pm until dusk (approximately 5:00pm). The course will be available again on Saturday afternoon following the conclusion of Saturday's competition until dusk (approximately 2:00pm til 5:00pm). No warmups will be permitted on the course during competition. Note: Race officials reserve the right to limit acess to certain parts of the course during course inspection if inclement weather could potentially damage the race course.

Transportation
Transportation will be provided from the meet headquarters, Days Inn Tacoma, and the Shilo Inn to the competition site according to the following schedule:

Parking
Since the "back 9" of the Lake Spanaway Golf Course will be in play during the championships, parking in the golf course's lot will be limited to selected meet personnel and golfers with a tee-time. No competitors or spectators will be permitted to park in this lot; vehicles in violation of this policy will be towed. However, the Harry Sprinker Recreation Center's lot is located directly across the street from the golf course and is available for competitors and spectators.

Team Scoring
A minimum of four runners and a maximum of six runners will constitute a team. The combined points of each team's first four finishers will determine a team's score. The team with the lowest score will be the winning team. Cross country displacement scoring will be used. The formation of teams must meet all of the parameters as noted in Regulations 7 and 8 in the USATF Operating Regulations Handbook, Section III. This will be strictly enforced.

Awards
USA Championship medals will be presented to the top finishers in each race. Junior and senior national champions will each receive beautfully carved "Eagle" Indian Bowls. Prize money will be awarded to the top finishers in each of the senior races as noted below.

Awards Celebration
The top six finishers in each of the junior and senior championships will be honored at the finish line immediately following the conclusion of that competition. An awards celebration will be conducted at the meet headquarters, Days Inn Tacoma, at 5:00pm, Saturday February 13. Awards from Saturday's competitions will be presented at this time. Awards for Sunday's competitions will presented immediately following the conclusion of that event.

Prize Money
A current Direct Payment License issued from USATF is necessary to receive prize money in excess of $500. College athletes with remaining eligibility and high school students are not eligible to win prize money. Prize money will revert to the next lower finisher. The total amount of prize money and the breakdown will be posted to this site as soon as that information is available.

Results
Results' packets will be available each day for a nominal fee. Results will also be posted to the t-and-f listserve and to this site as soon as possible following the conclusion of the competition.
